Tokyo: Greg's Perspective

Some street photography. I completely missed this. Photo: Greg

The temple we spent an hour in that I forgot to actually take a photo of. Photo: Greg

Okay, I quite intentionally didn't take any flower photographs. There was a display of flower arrangements in the courtyard. Greg taught me how Japanese names work using the labels on the arrangements. The small characters are the name of the school, while the big ones are the name of the arranger. It was interesting to hear that much of the information is just inferred, and a bit of guesswork is involved in figuring out what someones name might be, not just how it is pronounced. Photo: Greg

A better perspective on one of those gates. Photo: Greg

A tea house. Photo: Greg

The shrine that was actually a picnic hut. I include this as proof that I wasn't the only one fooled. Photo: Greg

I coerced Greg into taking this one. Photo:Greg

That really busy crossing again. Photo: Greg

The bloke in the ad is apparently a famous film producer. Or maybe Greg just liked those heels. Photo: Greg

Before I leave the subject of Tokyo, I thought I should include some shots from Greg. After helping me with a couple of gratuitous selfie “proof” shots, Greg grabbed the LX100 and snapped a few shots during the day.

I’m including these because Greg caught an angle on a lot of things I didn’t. Especially with the temple and some street shots, Greg’s photos show the context of the places we saw that day better than I did.
